When to book an assessment

You know your child best. If something about their development worries you, an assessment gives you clear answers and a plan. Parents often contact us when their child:

  • is not babbling, pointing or using words at the expected age
  • rarely responds to their name or makes little eye contact
  • has lost words or skills they used to have
  • repeats movements, lines up toys or gets very upset by small changes
  • is very sensitive to sounds, textures, light or certain foods
  • finds it hard to play with other children or follow simple instructions

Seeing one or two of these does not mean a child has autism. Every child develops at their own pace, which is why a proper assessment matters. Read our guide: early signs of autism

What happens at the assessment

  1. 1 We listen to you We start with your child’s history, daily routine, strengths and the things that worry you.
  2. 2 Play-based observation Your child plays and works with our therapists while we observe communication, social interaction, behaviour, attention, movement and sensory responses.
  3. 3 Clear feedback We explain what we saw in simple words and answer every question. You are part of each step.
  4. 4 A personal plan We recommend the support that suits your child, with clear first goals you can see progress on.

How to prepare

  • Bring any previous reports, prescriptions or school notes.
  • Bring a favourite toy or snack to help your child feel at ease.
  • Write down your questions and what you have noticed at home.
  • Choose a time when your child is usually rested and has eaten.

Questions parents ask

At what age can my child be assessed?

We assess toddlers, young children and school-age children. The earlier a concern is checked, the sooner support can start, so there is no need to wait.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No. You can book directly with the online form, by phone or on WhatsApp.

Will my child feel stressed?

The assessment is play-based and relaxed. You stay with your child, and we take breaks whenever needed.

What if my child does not have autism?

The assessment still helps. It shows your child’s strengths and any area that needs support, such as speech delay or motor skills, and what to do next.
